Genesis Biochar/Compost Mix: Pre-Mixed for Optimal Results

In addition to offering Genesis Biochar and Genesis Compost separately, we also offer a pre-mixed Biochar/Compost Mix. This mix combines the long-term carbon sequestration benefits of biochar with the immediate nutrient availability of compost. The pre-mixed Biochar/Compost Mix not only enhances microbial activity but also inoculates the soil with essential microorganisms, nutrients, and micronutrients, effectively “filling the tank.” Compost serves to populate the soil with a thriving community of microbes that helps “fuel” nutrient cycling and boosts the biochar’s ability to retain and release nutrients. The addition of compost also increases Anion Exchange Capacity (AEC)—the soil’s ability to retain negatively charged ions like nitrate, phosphate, and sulfate, while the biochar increases Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), improving nutrient retention and plant access to both cations and anions.
